ZATO Signs Strategic MOU with Uganda Tourism Association

On 28th April 2026, the Zanzibar Association of Tour Operators (ZATO) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Uganda Tourism Association (UTA) during the Uganda Tourism Roadshow held in Dar es Salaam.

This strategic partnership marks an important milestone in strengthening regional tourism cooperation between Zanzibar and Uganda. The MOU aims to promote joint marketing initiatives, enhance business-to-business (B2B) engagements, and create new opportunities for tour operators in both destinations.

Through this collaboration, ZATO members are expected to benefit from expanded networks, increased product diversification, and stronger market access within the East African region.

ZATO remains committed to building meaningful partnerships that support the growth and sustainability of the tourism sector while creating value for its members.
