ZATO Chairman Represents Chairman of Zanzibar Commission for Tourism at Pemba Tourisport and Cultural Bonanza
Mr. Khalifa Makame, Chairman of the Zanzibar Association of Tourism Operators (ZATO) and Board Member of the Zanzibar Commission for Tourism, represented the Chairman of the Commission for Tourism, Mr. Mohamed Salim, at the Pemba Tourisport and Cultural Bonanza held in Pemba from 24–27 January 2026.
The four-day event was successfully celebrated with a variety of sports and cultural activities showcasing the rich traditions of the Pemba Islands. Activities included traditional Ngalawa races, bull fighting, donkey parades, triathlon, swimming competitions, and a site inspection visit to Misali Island.
The bonanza served as an important platform to promote tourism while celebrating the unique cultural heritage and sporting spirit of Pemba.
